Ballads and Folk

All my life I've been singing and playing songs by Swedish poets and composers like Evert Taube, CM Bellman and plenty of others. I also feel close to the composers and musicians who blend Swedish folklore with jazz as does Jan Johansson and Lars Gullin for example.

But I also feel close to the musicians that played like a hundred years ago. I live in an area of Sweden where the tradition is very rich and deep, and this inspires me a lot. I love to play old traditional songs in my own way. And sometimes I find myself writing something very Scandinavian.
